Report a cold-call or claim farmer

Be wary of people who contact you about whether you’ve been in a crash, this is what claim farmers do.

We are collecting details of cold-callers, known as claim farmers, in an attempt to stamp out the practice in Queensland.

Claim farming involves members of the public receiving cold calls or social media prompts, seeking personal details regarding possible involvement in car accidents. These claim farmers encourage people to make a CTP claim. They then sell these details, for a commission, to legal firms.

Claim farmers can be very sophisticated and convincing.

The clearest warning sign you’re dealing with a claim farmer scammer is how they contact you and the promises they make.

If you have received an unsolicited phone call or social media prompt encouraging you to make a CTP claim, please complete the form below.

The Motor Accident Insurance Commission manages personal information submitted in the above form in line with the Information Privacy Act 2009 (PDF, 836KB). We collect and manage your personal information as described on this page, unless stated otherwise.
