The Motor Accident Insurance Commission (MAIC) has legislative functions defined under the Motor Accident Insurance Act 1994 to:
- provide funds for research and education in the field of rehabilitation and the provision of rehabilitation services
- provide funds for research into the causes of motor vehicle accidents and their prevention.
MAIC grants funding focuses on injury prevention and rehabilitation; supporting activities that aim to eliminate or reduce the incidence of motor vehicle accidents or improve the treatment and rehabilitation of people who are injured. Our research grant funding program supports multiple research centres, research fellowships, research projects and pilot program initiatives.
