On Thursday 23 May, MAIC launched a new fellowship to promote high-quality trauma care in Queensland.
Commencing next year, the Associate Professor Clifford Pollard AM Trauma Fellowship will develop the expertise of clinicians working in trauma care.
It will be established within the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH) Trauma Service. Offered for four years, with two years per fellow, it will include educational, clinical and research elements.
Insurance Commissioner Neil Singleton announced the fellowship at Cliff’s retirement celebration, to honour his contribution to the field.
Cliff made a distinct contribution to the field in his positions as Chair of the Statewide Clinical Trauma Network, Director of Trauma Services at RBWH, and Director of the Queensland Trauma Registry at the University of Queensland.
Thank you, Cliff, for your dedication to improving the lives of people who have experienced trauma. We’re grateful for the opportunity to help others do the same, through our new fellowship.
