The Motor Accident Insurance Commission (MAIC) is advancing a significant digital project focused on improving insurer monitoring and reporting. The release of a new digital portal is set to make interactions between MAIC and insurers, quicker, easier, and more secure.
The digital transformation of current MAIC systems will see the introduction of CTP Secure, a one-stop-shop for insurers to access MAIC digital services. It is intended that CTP Secure will include direct links to the existing Personal Injury Register (PIR), CTP Premium Filing system and the Queensland CTP Portal. MAIC Exchange, a new application that will enable insurers to provide secure notifications and exchange documents, will also be available within CTP Secure.

This project aims to build the MAIC Exchange platform to transition the current manual, email-based regulatory processes into one MAIC portal, streamlining processes into a single digital location.
MAIC Exchange will reduce duplications and errors, providing smarter forms, more secure information exchange, and better visibility of actions and statuses.
The improved management of key functions and quicker processes for routine tasks, housed in an easy-to-use platform, will also benefit both MAIC and insurers alike.
CTP Secure is set to launch next quarter – initially with cost and claim sharing reporting. Additional functionality, including self-audits, business plans, fraud referrals and breach reporting will follow.
