A road safety campaign designed by young drivers, targeting young drivers, has been launched by the State Government on social media with the catchphrase “Settle down, Stallion!”
The aim of the new Join the Drive to Save Lives campaign is to trigger among young people, their friends and families conversations about speeding and risky driving.
Rather than focus on the tragic consequences of speeding, the campaign seeks to display the riskiest and most life-threatening behaviour as socially unacceptable and pointless.
The need for the campaign is highlighted by the fact that young drivers make up only 14 per cent of all driver licence holders but account for 34.7 per cent of all people killed or hospitalized as a result of a road crash.
If you know someone who drives like this, tell that stallion to settle down.
