FAQs for online claim form (eNOAC)

The Online claim form (also called Electronic Notice of Accident Claim Form or eNOAC) allows you to lodge your CTP insurance claim online. View our FAQs below or contact us for assistance.

Getting started

Simply:

  • visit https://ctpportal.maic.qld.gov.au
  • select your role type (e.g. ‘I am a person with an injury’)
  • read the terms and conditions
  • tick the checkbox to agree
  • click ‘Register/login’ button and follow the instructions.

The password must have between 8 and 64 characters. The password must contain at least 3 of the following:

  • a lowercase letter
  • an uppercase letter
  • a digit
  • a symbol.

At the bottom of the first page of the Queensland CTP claim portal, there is a ‘Forgot Password?’ button. Click on this and follow the instructions.

No, at this stage your password will not expire. You will only need to reset your password if you have forgotten it.

As it is an individual login, please use your individual email address. If you are using this platform in the course of your employment, please use your business individual email address.

You will need to provide either a landline or mobile phone number. If you do not have a mobile phone, you can provide a landline number and select the option to receive a call.

Currently many smartphones pop-up with the verification code from the SMS to auto-enter into the log-in. Unfortunately this option is currently incompatible and the code needs to be manually entered in order to log in.

Printing is available at your local public library, office supply stores, copy and print shops, or universities. Alternatively, you can contact the CTP insurer of the vehicle at fault and they will be able to post you a form.

Please contact us to tell us about the problem. It’s helpful if you can tell us which internet browser you were using when the error occurred and provide a screenshot if possible.

You can complete the Online claim form with assistance from a contributor (e.g. a legal representative, if you have one) or submit it yourself directly to the insurer.

No, this form can only be used for accidents that occurred in Queensland. If your accident occurred outside of Queensland, please contact the interstate authority for the state or territory where the accident happened.

If the at-fault vehicle was registered in another state or territory, you cannot use the Online claim form and must use the PDF version (389 KB) and send it to the relevant interstate insurer. You can find the details of the interstate insurer by contacting the relevant interstate authority.

No, sorry. If you are making a claim as a spouse or dependant of a person who sustained fatal injury in a motor vehicle accident, you must complete the Notice of Accident Claim Form (Fatal Injury) (PDF, 457 KB) in its PDF version. Our online claim form is not yet available for claims involving fatal injury.

No, please complete a separate claim form for each person who was injured.

Using the system

Some questions on the form are mandatory and you will not be able to proceed without answering them. An error message will appear prompting you to answer these questions. Other questions are not mandatory however if you do not answer them, it may delay your claim. For further assistance, please contact the insurer or contact us.

Enter details for the vehicle you think was most at fault in the ‘Vehicle 1’ section on page 4. If you believe there were multiple vehicles equally at fault, you will need to add one vehicle as most at fault and the others under additional vehicles (i.e. Vehicle 2, Vehicle 3, etc.).

If you do not know the registration number of the vehicle, indicate this on the claim form under the question ‘Do you know the registration number of the at-fault vehicle?’ located on the ‘Accident’ page. Your claim will then be sent to the Nominal Defendant.

The Online claim form will identify the CTP insurer of the at-fault vehicle for you and submit the claim form to them. If the at-fault vehicle was unregistered or could not be identified, this will be sent to the Nominal Defendant.

The insurer will check when they receive the claim form and, if they believe another insurer should manage the claim, they will contact the other insurer. In the meantime, they will manage your claim.

If you have already submitted the claim form to the insurer, please contact the insurer directly to make the changes. If you have not submitted your form yet, you will be able to go back and change the details before submitting the form.

Please contact the CTP insurer that you lodged your claim with, to find out how to provide the document to them directly.

You can download a copy of the online claim form up to 21 days after you submitted it. After that time, please request a copy from the insurer.

The insurer is considered to have received it on the date the claim form was available to download from the Queensland CTP claim portal. In this example, the insurer received an email notification at 10pm on Saturday night and the Online claim form was available to download from that date and time. Therefore, the notification date would be Saturday’s date.

To keep your personal information secure, your draft Online claim form will remain in the system for 60 days after it was last modified. After you submit your claim form, it will remain on your dashboard for 21 days.

Please contact our team at maic@maic.qld.gov.au within 1 business day of the employee’s departure, requesting that we revoke their access to the system.

Alternatively you can sign-up as a business group under the new security model to self-manage your staff access. Learn more here.

At this stage the mobile number cannot be changed by the user. Please contact us if you need this reset.

The CTP Portal does not support shared accounts and requires multi factor authentication through a mobile phone or landline. Your information in the portal is confidential and should not be shared with unauthorised users.

Insurers and lawyers can use the improved security model functions to self-manage access. Learn more about this here.
