Lodgement confirmation

The insurer will advise you within 14 days* if your claim form was lodged correctly and whether the insurer will pay for the reasonable and appropriate rehabilitation.

*After receiving your claim.

Rehabilitation & Treatment

You continue with any recommended rehabilitation and treatment. Rehabilitation providers can learn more from our treatment plans and guidelines.

Liability assessment

The insurer will make a decision on liability within 6 months of receiving your claim.

*Liability is usually decided earlier in straightforward cases.

Insurer obtains information

The insurer obtains records and information to help assess your compensation (e.g. from your doctor, hospital and employer).

Injury stablised

Your injury has resolved or is stable.

Claim negotiation

Settlement of your claim is negotiated with the insurer.

Settlement and finalisation of your compensation claim
